Hasan Bader, MD, FACP
Dr. Hasan Bader is an Interventional Endoscopist at Rockford Gastroenterology Associates. Dr. Bader is board certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. His journey began when he was admitted to the highly selective 6-year accelerated combined undergraduate and medical school program at the University of Missouri–Kansas City School of Medicine. He went on to complete his residency in Internal Medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin and his fellowship in Gastroenterology at the University of Missouri-Kansas City where he was Chief Fellow. He then completed an additional fellowship in Interventional Pancreatobiliary Endoscopy at the Medical College of Wisconsin, where he was also appointed Instructor of Medicine. He currently serves as Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at UIC-Rockford.
Dr. Bader has achieved the honor of induction into the Gold Humanism Honor Society, a testament to his dedication to providing humanistic and patient-centered care. His aptitude for teaching was recognized when he received the Medical College of Wisconsin Outstanding Medical Student Teacher award. During his Gastroenterology fellowship, he was elected to the House Staff Council and was part of the School of Medicine Coordinating Committee. He was also selected nationwide to the American Gastroenterology Association’s Innovation Fellow cohort. Dr. Bader has presented his research at national conferences including Digestive Disease Week. He has been invited to present at both national and international meetings.
He remains deeply committed to patient advocacy, medical education, and community outreach. He has served on the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE) Health and Public Policy Committee advocating for patients on a national level. He serves on the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG) Training Committee. He is also a member of the American Gastroenterological Association (AGA) and American College of Physicians (ACP).
Dr. Bader has a broad interest in digestive diseases and endoscopy, with special interests in biliary disease, pancreatic disease, complex polyp resection, complex esophageal strictures, and Barrett’s esophagus. He has advanced training in therapeutic endoscopy including endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) with fine needle aspiration/biopsy (FNA/FNB), cholangioscopy with electrohydraulic lithotripsy (EHL), endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR), enteral stenting, lumen-apposing metal stent placement (LAMS), radiofrequency ablation (RFA), and endoscopic cystogastrostomy.
Dr. Bader is an active member of the medical staff at OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center and UW Health Swedish American Hospital.
