Steven Ikenberry, MD
Dr. Steven O. Ikenberry is clinical assistant professor of medicine at the University of Illinois at Rockford and joined Rockford Gastroenterology Associates, Ltd. in 2000. Dr. Ikenberry graduated from Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine and then completed a residency in Internal Medicine, a fellowship in Gastroenterology, and an advanced training fellowship at Indiana University School of Medicine. He served as Chief Fellow and later remained on Faculty and became Co-Director of the Endoscopic Ultrasound Unit at Indiana University.
Dr. Ikenberry was the Director of the Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Center at Swedish American Hospital from 2001-2018 and served as President of the Swedish American medical staff.
Dr. Ikenberry is board certified in Gastroenterology with broad interests in digestive diseases and endoscopy. He has special interests in gastrointestinal malignancies, endoscopic ultrasound, and inflammatory bowel disease. Dr. Ikenberry has over 50 published scientific articles and abstracts to his credit.
Dr. Ikenberry is an active member of the medical staff at UW Health Swedish American Hospital and OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center.
